Post 57 -- Another Busy Week (Almost Too Busy)

Just completed another busy but enjoyable week.  Monday was a day filled with running errands and getting ready for Tuesday.  Sister Smart spent time in a craft shop in Kingston -- you might say she is a bit crafty.  We also visited a shop owned by one of our members, the Tandang's.  They are a wonderful Phillipino couple who live in our ward.  We found in their store -- A & W Root beer -- the real stuff.  Also found some real hot dogs.  Can you believe that anyone would crave a hot dog.  Found sweet pickle relish, real jello, and a few others items.  Following all this excitement, we went to our usual grocery store and Elder Smart took the car in to try to get it fixed, only to find that we needed to make a two day later appointment.

Oh My!! Look what Sister Smart did!

The next day, Tuesday, saw us crossing our fingers and saying more than one prayer that our car would make it to Crawley.  This was the third of three zone conferences.  At each on, the mission president had asked that we make a presentation on using family history for retention of converts.  The new "program" is to see that every new convert be in the temple doing baptisms for his family within sixty days of his baptism. We had an enjoyable meeting and it was fun to see some of the Elders that had been in our Staines Ward earlier.  When we finally got home, we wanted to kiss the ground because the car had so much trouble.  Needless to say, we were very willing to try to get it to the car dealer on Wednesday.

Got the car to the dealer and spent the day helping at the family history centre on Wednesday.  Did the same on Thursday and Friday and Saturday.

Along the way we have done some paperwork to make things happen.  We have been worried about getting our taxes done; worrying about getting our Draper yard ready for the summer; getting reports in to our leaders; and the list goes on and on.

Today has been another wonderful Sabbath.  Great meetings!  Great members!  Wonderful Temple Preparation class!  Great combine priesthood/relief society meeting with Elder Herbertson of our Area Presidency.

Life is good.  Life is busy.  The gospel is true.

Love to you all,

Grandma and Grandpa, Mom and Dad, Sister and Elder Smart, Annie and Paul

ps  A very special birthday wish to Mikaela this week on the 5th.
