Week 24( Long Enough for England to Feel Like a 2nd Home)

We are becoming quite accomplished at digitizing records now.  The weeks of taking pictures, fixing focus, making crops, finding correct exposure and shooting are becoming something we are comfortable with.  We spend Monday through Friday serving as digitizers. We know that what we are doing is important and the Spirit of Elijah is working with us to accomplish the Lord's plan for bringing families together.  They still want us to spend more time upstairs doing more helping in the Family History Centre, so this week a second couple will begin to trade off with us and do some of our digitizing.

The weekends are so very full for us also.  We left the Archives early on Friday to attend the temple for baptisms with with our dear friend from the Staines Ward.  Helen Baden made her first trip to the temple and did baptisms for her deceased grand parents and great grand parents.  We were privileged to go with her.  Annie also took some of her family names.  She has been working for weeks on the Windows line that was so messed up by everyone that had posted this family in FamilySearch. There were lots of twists that could have anyone putting the wrong names in. She researched and corrected and found new ancestors and she was baptized for her own.  Paul did the baptizing for both Helen and Annie.  Afterwards, he was baptized for the males for both Helen's and Annie's ancestors.  It was a wonderful experience for all 3 of us.

Saturday was spent doing more genealogy.  We took the underground to the London City Archives and set ourselves to finding John Major ( Paul's ggg grandfather) in the Sun Fire Insurance records.  The records are not indexed and we had to search books and books of the insurance records.  We found it to be very time consuming.  We just about finished the 1771 records.  No luck yet.  We will make more trips there as we can.  We have many more years to check.  Wish us luck!

Sunday is still a joy for us.  We love mingling with the people of our ward and feeling the spirit of Christ at church.  Teaching the temple prep class is a "brilliant" experience.  Notice the British adjective.

We love the Lord and are so blessed.  We pray for all of our family and friends. We sure do miss you all.

HAPPY HAPPY Birthday to Velynn this week and to Keslee and Lilian who have their birthdays on Sunday one week from today.

Love,
