Week 66 Getting ready for some big weeks.

We have had a some what routine week.  It has been busy and we love the work we have been able to do while here in this beautiful country.  Last Sunday evening Elder Smart looked at Sister Smart's family tree on FamilySearch.org and found some mixups with duplicate people.  Sister Smart was bothered enough about it that she was up early Monday morning trying to straighten things out.  It brought up some questions and research was needed to straighten out everything.

We had the bug by then and hurried over to the London Family History Centre at the National Archives. Mondays the building is closed to the public, but since we had staff badges we were able to enter and go to work in the Family History Centre.  We spent the entire "P" day working on Sister Smart's genealogy.  It is fun to go on Mondays, no one to bother us, quiet and access to all the microfilms.  We got a lot done, and worked to get ready for an upcoming conference the first week in June.  We will be close to the Ward family sites in Yorkshire and we will take extra days to visit and research this line.

Annie is sure looking forward to this along with the other conferences these next two weeks.  We are going north to Lancashire. This is where the family she has been researching all year lived (Leathers and Windus'). We will spend time visiting sights and researching further.  She is excited for this next month.

Tuesday we were assigned to do our usual mentoring, but ended up doing more in the London FHC due to a tube strike. We closed down early and had a little extra time at home.Thursday morning Annie stayed home to work on the monthly  reports and Paul went to the LFHC to work on his power point presentations for the conferences the next two weekends.  He wasn't able to get as much done as he wanted, because when he is at the LFHC everyone continually asks him questions and wants his help.  It is his own fault for knowing so much.  Annie joined him just after lunch.  She had made an appointment with the missionary sisters in the ward to help them with their family history and to help show them how to use family history as a proselyting tool.

Friday, Paul was given a special assignment to help some people with a difficult problem.  They had been to the LFHC before and hadn't received the help they needed.  Paul was asked to "wine and dine" them.  They said they had a good visit and would likely come back.  Most of the rest of Paul's time was spent answering letters.  All the letters that come to the LFHC are assigned to Paul to answer.  Annie stayed home in the morning to finish  our monthly reports.  She joined him for the afternoon. .

Saturday we spent all afternoon at the Wandsworth Stake Family History Centre.  They had some real computer problems.  Paul worked his miracles and now they can access, Ancestry, Find My Past and the Genealogist.  We stopped on the way home to get take out Pizza Hut Pizza to make Annie happy. Sometimes she gets very spoiled by her dear husband.

Sunday was great at Church and then Home Teaching after church.  We are blessed to have association with so many wonderful people.  We enjoyed several testimonies from members that have been in our temple preparation class, not to mention the sweet testimony of Annie.

We love the Lord and love serving here.  We miss you all!  Our prayers are with all of you.
